American model and actress Christie Brinkley announced that she successfully underwent surgery after being diagnosed with skin cancer by sharing an Instagram post. Brinkley was suffering from basal cell carcinoma, a type of skin cancer that causes a lump, bump or lesion on sun-exposed areas like the face and neck. With the announcement, she also urges her fans to prioritise sun protection and get regular health checkups. Brinkley felt very lucky to be accompanied by her daughter and good doctors during her surgery. The announcement follows her 70th birthday celebration in February, where she expressed that she’s far away from retirement.
