Supernatural comedy film Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire is poised to win a relatively quiet box office weekend despite a B+ CinemaScore from audiences. However, the debate is on whether it can reach $42 million to $44 million in its domestic opening. After earning $16 million on Friday, including $4.7 million in Thursday previews, Sony believes it will hit that mark. Nearly 40% of earnings come from premium-format screens. Directed by Gil Kenan, the movie is a sequel to 2021’s Ghostbusters: Afterlife, starring Paul Rudd, Carrie Coon, Logan Kim, Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd.
