English actor Joseph Gatt filed a $40 million lawsuit against Los Angeles officials following his 2022 arrest for alleged sexual misconduct. In the lawsuit, Gatt claimed that his arrest for having sexually explicit online contact with a minor was based on fabricated evidence, and when he tried to clear his name, he was threatened. The lawsuit named the Los Angeles Police Department and former Los Angeles County Deputy District Attorney Angela Brunson. The actor is seeking $40 million for damages along with a jury trial.
