Blockout 2024 Movement: From Kim Kardashian to Taylor Swift, Every A-List Celebrity Losing Followers

Kim Kardashian, Justin Bieber, Taylor Swift and several other celebrities lost followers amid blockout 2024 movement

A new hashtag, #blockout2024, is trending on social media platforms, especially on TikTok, as users express their frustration with celebrities who are said to remain silent on the Gaza war.

Users shared videos of compiling lists of A-list celebrities to block as a response to their perceived inadequate reactions to the ongoing conflicts in Gaza and Sudan, with over 34,971 people killed in Gaza and more than 14,000 people killed in Sudan.

Social media users argue that events like the Met Gala, where renowned celebrities showcase their extravagant and avant-garde styles, highlight the disconnect from such devastating conflicts.

A TikTok user, Blockout2024, has called out several of the world’s biggest names from the industry who are deemed explicit. From Taylor Swift and Kim Kardashian to Justin Bieber, the list is big who lost their follower count.

The TikTok user posted a video in which he claimed that followers have complete control of celebrities’ money and lives. “The amount of attention and engagement we give them is their direct currency. Take it from them.”

According to the user, celebrities will not be able to earn ad revenue if their followers significantly drop down.
