The team announced he died at his home in Florence after suffering from a long illness. Through his creativity, Cavalli has created a legacy, becoming a globally recognized name loved and respected by everyone.
Famous celebrities who wore his designs included Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez, Brigitte Bardot, and Sophia Loren. Fausto Puglisi, a creative director in Cavalli’s company, said the designer would continue to be a beacon of motivation for others.
Puglisi added working with Cavalli was the greatest honor of his career. On 15 November 1940, Roberto Cavalli was born to the artist Giuseppe Rossi. His father was a member of the Macchiaioli group, which was known for producing work that was exhibited in the Uffizi Gallery.
In 1970, Cavalli launched his fashion brand. He invented and patented an innovative leather printing process. In 1972, he opened his first small shop, Limbo, in the French City of Saint-Tropez.
Cavalli was known for his animal prints, along with his hippie dress, sand-blasted jeans, and patchwork designs on denim. He also introduced one version in Leopard print and updated the Playboy Bunnie’s scanty uniform.
Cavalli was once asked about his inspiration for using animal prints in his designs. He answered I appreciate that even fish have a fantastic colored dress, as do snakes and the tigers. God is a great designer, so I have copied God.
