American actor, writer, and comedian Joe Flaherty, best known for his role in the Canadian sketch comedy “SCTV,” passed away on Monday. The actor was 82 years old. “One Crazy Summer” co-star Joel Murray first announced Flaherty’s demise.
Flaherty’s daughter Gudrun Flaherty confirmed that he died after a brief illness. Joseph Flaherty was born on 21 June 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, United States. Flaherty’s legacy is rich with iconic characters from his SCTV days, including Big Jim McBob, Count Floyd, and Guy Caballero.
