Lizzo said she’s tired of being dragged by everyone on the internet. She wanted to make people happy and help make the world a better place with her music, but the world doesn’t want her now.
The rapper concluded the post by saying, “I Quit.” In August 2023, her former backup dancers, Arianna Davis, Noelle Rodriguez, and Crystal Williams, sued Lizzo for creating a toxic work environment and sexual harassment.
They claimed the rapper used to invite cast members to take turns touching the nude performers, eating bananas protruding from the performers’ vaginas, and catching dildos launched from performers’ vaginas.
Davis also claimed that Lizzo forced her to fondle a nude performer’s breasts. After the lawsuit became public, dancer Courtney Hollinquest and creative director Quinn Whitney said they were also kept in the same situation.
An American filmmaker and photographer, Sophia Nahli, said she was also treated disrespectfully by Lizzo and quit working with her after two weeks. On 3 August 2023, the “Truth Hurts” singer shared a lengthy statement on her social media, calling the allegations outrageous.
Although the rapper maintained her innocence, the allegations kept coming. Lizzo was also accused of turning a blind eye to a verbally and physically abusive manager by Asha Daniels, who worked in the wardrobe department for the rapper.
Though almost everyone is against the rapper, some feel she hasn’t acted in such inappropriate ways. In October 2023, eighteen of her employees signed a declaration supporting the rapper.
